DIY Felt Succulent with PDF Pattern

Deidre Kindall

Hey, Crafty Friends, I'm so glad you are here. Today I want to show you how to make this intermediate DIY felt succulent using one of our PDF patterns! I think you will love the end result.

Here is what you need

ONE 12x18 Sheet of Wool Blend Felt in MOSS or PEA SOUP

TWO Print outs of the PDF Pattern

Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks

Step ONE: Print out your PDF patterns onto freezer paper then iron them down onto your felt, not sure how to do that? go HERE. Next cut out 16 individual succulent petals, then separate them into TWO sets of 5 and ONE set of 6. (as shown in the image)

Step TWO: Start with your TWO sections of 5 and begin gluing them into a "curved chain" by overlapping the outer edges. They should look similar to the fifth image above once you are done.

Step THREE: Take your two curved chains and connect them together to form a three dimensional "cupped" or "dish" shape. One will be the middle layer and the second will be the bottom.

Step FOUR: Take the one section of 6 petals and like the others glue them into a "curved chain". But instead of "cupping" them, you will need to roll the chain in on itself to create the top layer. Next, you can insert the top layer into the center opening of the middle layer. After that insert the middle and top layer into the bottom. You do not need to add any glue yet, that comes last.

Step FIVE: For the last step cut out a 1" - 1.25" circle by free hand, then add a generous amount of glue on the back of the succulent and place the circle over it. You are now done!
